is there any new change in law on the claim recently about more time extention of benefits or medical insurance after layoff; etc.?

thanks in advance for answers.
California.

In most states you must be employed for 6 months. A few allow you to make a reduced claim after 12 weeks. As for when to file, it varies from state to state. You can get information for your state from your local employment agency. Medical benefits after layoff are covered by ERISA, a very large and complex federal statute.
